About the Author

Dr. Samuel S. Conn brings nearly 40 years of leadership spanning the military, higher education, business, and technology sectors, combining teaching and research roles at major Carnegie-classified R1 institutions with a distinguished executive career in enterprise IT and digital and AI transformation. His scholarship and instruction span artificial intelligence, enterprise systems, big data, and cloud computing, giving him a rare blend of academic depth and executive experience in studying AI's impact on organizations.

Dr. Conn previously served as President and CEO of a national research and education network, where he led digital transformation initiatives in broadband infrastructure, AI, and cybersecurity for higher education, government, and healthcare institutions across the Northeast. His executive career also includes serving as Executive Vice President and CIO at SUNY Empire State University and Vice President for Information Technology and CIO at Southern Polytechnic State University.

A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Conn has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and two books on systems design, digital learning, and knowledge management. His work has earned the distinguished and meritorious paper awards, and he was named a Technology Thought Leader by ROI-NJ in 2021 and 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University's College of Computing, AI & Cybersecurity.
